Japan cm of the week - dmm

DMM.com has had a number of quirky, cute and funny commercials in the past, and this one continues the tradition.

DMM has long had a monthly DVD rental service much like Netflix in the US, but now their services have expanded to cover streaming movies and TV shows, and also music, games and comics. And as the commercial above says, you can now watch it all on your phone.

Oh, and the new DMM model? She's Tao Tsuichiya (土屋太鳳 - here's her blog), who starred in the popular TV series Inside Mr. Suzuki's Classroom (鈴木先生 - watch it on Hulu here; IMO one of the best school dramas I've seen in Japan).

Her unusual first name came to her mother in a dream she had before Tao was born; she says she saw a newborn baby floating on a cloud, and next to it was written "Tao, girl, born Feb 3rd." So when in fact her baby was born earlier than expected on that exact date, she named her Tao.
