Anime picks of the season - Amnesia and Line Offline
This, my good friends, is episode 1 of the new short anime LINE OFFLINE (The official site is here).
LINE of course is the wildly popular messaging app that lets users chat, send voice messages, and make free VOIP phone calls to their friends. Sound like Skype? Well it is very similar except that LINE also has tons of cute little icons you can use to spruce up your messages.
LINE's version of emoji have become so popular they're now they've spawned an anime.
How is it? Pretty funny. Watch the first episode and see for yourself.
Also before I go I wanted to mention another anime that just started. It's called Amnesia (spelled with a backwards s). Here is the trailer:
The show's lead (named only "The Heroine" in the description) is voiced by Kaori Nazuka (名塚佳織) Within seconds of turning it on I knew I'd heard her voice somewhere... It turns out Nazuka has done a ton of good voice work: she was in .hack//SIGN, Darker than Black, Inukami! and many many other good anime I've seen.
Anyway, from Nazuka's past history of hits alone I'd say Amnesia is worth a viewing. But it also has good artwork, and there's something a bit strange about it that makes me think it could be a truly unique story. Time will tell.
I'll write more later as the show goes on, but my gut tells me it could be a winner.
