Japan cm of the week - let's measure radiation!

This is definitely a sign of the times.

There were lot of good new commercials out this week but I had to go with this one: the new softbank cm for the Pantone 5 smartphone. What's so special about this phone? In addition to being a waterproof android 4.0 phone, it also has a built-in radiation detector (I assume some kind of Geiger counter).

Pretty cool, considering most Geiger counters are quite delicate and definitely aren't water resistant.

So you can sit in a  park, reading comics, checking the news, and surfing the internet, all while recording how much background radiation there is, which the phone can record in a diary.

The phone even has a dedicated button to start up the rad checker. It's spec sheet isn't bad either: it has 4 gig of built-in memory, 1 gig of ram, and a high-res 854x480 3.7" screen. So kind of last year's specs, but if you want the rad checker and prefer a smaller screen I say go for it.
