Japan cm of the week - Atsuko Maeda is g.u.

AKB48's Atsuko Maeda is back, promoting g.u.'s new yurupan (ゆるパン - lightweight baggy pants) summer line. I scoffed at g.u.'s designs at first, but after getting a down winter jacket, some socks and now 5 light button up shirts, I have to say I'm a true believer.

g.u. is basically like UNIQLO, except with more color variations and cheaper prices, but with a bit simpler lineup and not as much fashion pizzaz I guess you could say. And sizes that fit me - around 5 or 6 years ago when UNIQLO morphed into a fashionable line everything they make besides t-shirts just started to feel odd on me.

Anyhoo, this commercial is also another testament to Maeda's versatility. I think she'll be one of the few survivors of AKB after they end, which is probably why she's getting out now. I only hope she gets more work in dramas (She was great in the very underrated Q10).
