Rainy Ueno - GXR A16

I had a little time after work, so I headed in to Ueno to pick up the auto-retracting lens cover for the GXR A16 unit (the LC-3). Man, does it help taking pictures when you're holding an umbrella in your other hand.

These are some of the pics I took with the A16 unit, mostly at the wide angle 24mm equiv. I love the Ameyoko area. It has tons of great shops, Moses-san Kebabs, that I've mentioned before (best Turkish dining in Japan), and lots of people to watch.

And despite the cold weather there are some cherry trees in blossom. This one is on the street in Ameyoko itself, the next one is in Ueno park, which I highly recommend visiting when the trees are in full bloom. It's the perfect place to experience a real hanami.

And I have to say so far that the A16 24-85mm lens unit for the GXR is fantastic. It zooms and takes pics with virtually no sound at all, and focuses very fast. And as you can see the pics turn out very nicely, if I do say so myself. As is always the case with Ricoh, color representation feels very natural and the images have that beautiful Ricoh feel to them.
