And now for a little Kyary diversion

It's Sunday. In the news this week of course were a lot of sad and terrible news stories. Japan is all a flutter now with the election being held today, where most likely the LDP will retake power under the leadership of former prime minister Shinzo Abe. And of course we have all the end of the year TV specials coming up, as well as Christmas parties, bōnenkai (忘年会 - office drinking parties popular in Japan) and then New Years stuff.

It's enough to give you a headache thinking about how much it's going to give you a headache later...

So I thought I'd post something a little more lighthearted today.

This is the video for Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's single Fashion Monster. Kyary (as I've written about before here and here), is quite the unique little star, having risen to fame in a very quick time period as both a model and singer.

And I know some people will decry her as just another odd Japanese idol, but I think she's really good, both in her style and in her unusual music. And how can you not smile watching her or her backup dancers?

Anyway, listen and enjoy and have a nice Sunday.
