Japan cm of the week - Lin Chi Ling eats melty chocolates in a melty dress

It's that time of the week again. This week we have the lovely Lin Chi Ling in a Meiji ad for their Holoholone Chocolat. She's looking cute as ever, though the expression on her face is a bit odd... methinks it's hard to get the right motivation dancing in front of a green screen like this.

She's been Meiji's campaign girl for a while now - her previous video can be found here. It's also cute but somewhat odd at the same time.

Lin has of course been on TV doing spots and in ads in Japan since she came to fame a few years back starring opposite Takuya Kimura in the monday night love serial Tsuki no Koibito (月の恋人 - Moon Lovers).

While not the best J-love story, it was notable for having a Taiwanese actress in a leading role, which is still a rarity in Japan (having a non-Japanese lead, that is). Since then I've seen two Koreans in big roles, so the numbers are increasing.

The drama also produced a funny moment when the tall-in-heels Lin stands about an inch or two above Kimtaku while walking arm in arm on a date, and she asks, "Why are people looking at us?" and he answers, "Because you're so big," in what felt like an ad-libbed bit.
