Bugz and bad weather
That's the cute little fellow I found on my landing when I got home from work today. I have no idea what it is, but it was flailing around cleaning it's antennae and looking mildly menacing.
It's now officially the rainy season in Japan, and in come the bugs, humidity and people complaining about humidity. Later tonight the 4th hurricane of the season will be hitting Tokyo and it's supposed to be a decent sized one, going by the catchy name Tropical Storm Guchol. A 5th hurricane is also forming south of us and it's predicted to make landfall in a few days.
Fun fun fun, but if it keeps the temperature down just a bit I'll be happy.
Oh, and while you're at it, big storm, could you please blow away some of these damn spiders? The past week I've seen about as many of the big Jorougumo (ジョロウグモ) that I think I can take. At least that's what I think they are. Anyway, they're pretty nasty. Here's the big one living on the 2nd floor of my apartment:
The other night I saw it grab 3 moths out of its web and devour them completely in under a minute. Yikes!
Definitely don't want that thing falling on you in the middle of the night, tho it's still not as bad as the nasty jumbo spider I saw in Fukushima last year (here's the link, scroll down a bit to find it).
