More memories of Shin Matsudo - GXR A16

Not a lot to post about today. The weather's kinda strange and cold. Work was good but tiring. And tonight I have yet another going away party for a friend leaving Japan. Someone who I honestly wish I'd gotten to know better, but you know how it is when you have coworkers that are cool and you like, but the two of you just hang with different groups of people.

So I decided to post some more pics I took around Shin Matsudo station with my GXR and the A16 24-85mm kit lens.

The above two pics don't really say much, but IMO are two nice examples of how modern Japanese architecture can be both trashy and awesome at the same time.

Here's a pic taken by the university a ways away from the station. This area is special to me because it's right where I got my first cellphone 13 years ago, and it's where I used to hang out after work back in the day.

And this is a pic of Koya station on the Nagareyama Dentetsu Line which runs right by Shin Matsudo. It was featured on TV just last weekend as a forgotten little train line, and it was also the train I used to ride once a week. As you can see, the station is literally occupying the 1st floor of a big old apartment building, built around it I would imagine.

  1. I miss my days in shinmats. The little pancake/egg restaurant near Daiei was awesome.

  2. I don't think I ever tried it. Huh. When I used to go there a lot it almost always meant I was getting Wendy's or Mexican food by the hospital.
