AKB48 in Hong Kong! (plus more)

I spent the weekend in Hong Kong, and man did I have a good time. OK I didn't really do anything, but I ate a lot, took a lot of pictures of the interesting buildings and sites in Hong Kong, and shopped like a 16 year old girl who just got to try out her dad's credit cards for the first time.

Anyway, here are a few pics I took while walking around town.

First:

Yes, Jesus loves you, especially if you sit down and try a latte. The number of almost Starbucks coffee shops in Asia always astounds me, tho this is the first time I'd seen one taking this particular sales pitch. But to be honest, the coffee was really cheap and really good.

Speaking of fake... Well, I don't know. These could be original characters I suppose... Found in downtown Kowloon right on the waterfront.

The last picture requires a close inspection to get the full effect:

Yup, there it is, the fabled official AKB48 Hong Kong shop and museum (?). Sure I went in. I had to. And they had gobs and gobs of AKB folders, stickers, puzzles and everything on sale for not too much.

What's more interesting, tho, was looking at the other shops around it. Look at the 3rd floor. Yep, that's a pic of a grandma holding a dildo. I guess the idea is that safe sex toys are fun for the whole family. And when you're done there you can shop for lingerie, and then get a coffee at the shop in back on the 1st floor.

So it's almost exactly the same as the area around the AKB shops in Akihabara.
