Here's a nice little list of thoughts I've had over the past few days, you know, observations about life that don't necessarily need posts of their own. In no particular order:
- I've always found adult men who are into Disney stuff to be quite off putting (if you have young kids I don't mind, tho).
- On the other hand, I've always been irritated by people who don't like rollar coasters. Same thing about horror movies.
- Are UFOs really so rare, or is it just that most people don't ever bother to look up?
- I've always been a fast walker. I've also always had a lot of tall friends. Did one cause the other?
- In Japan I've never minded when wait staff try to talk to me in English, but find it incredibly tiring when I get it from random assholes on the street.
- I am of the opinion that any company that is found guilty of the really heinous shit - like selling tainted milk, leaking sludge into a river, spilling massive amounts of oil - should be driven out of business. But not by legal action (unless it's to help victims). That shouldn't be necessary. The consumer should be smart enough to stop buying from them.
- Any time you can, throw a George W Bush quotation into your conversation. If at least one person doesn't give you a wry smile you need to find new friends.
- IMO sometimes the best way to follow a fantastic meal is with a cup of shitty sludgelike coffee.
- Any person who doesn't have at least one deep, dark secret is probably not very good in the sack.
- It is always appropriate to bring up a story about how you met some minor celebrity no one gives a shit about.
OK, that's all for now. You can go about your business now.
BTW, there's another cherry blossom pic I took near Teganuma Lake. Bears no relevance to this post, but my friend told me to always put a pic on top to draw people in.
Agree with all, bb! Love any pics of Abiko...post more! I'm homesick for Chiba.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend :)
I'm glad someone agreed (as in I'm not totally crazy). I'll try to post as many Abiko pics as possible. It is really a lovely city when you take a minute to look around.
ReplyDeleteHey Rhys!
ReplyDeleteI think you've got a wonderful blog and have nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award. You can read about it (and see what you need to do to “accept” it in my post here: http://zenandgenki.com/2012/04/16/its-raining-love-the-versatile-blogger-award-x-2-and-the-sheer-bliss-of-being-elmo/)
Thanks so much (in advance ;P)for sharing even more beautiful pics of Japan, and for all of your other delightful musings.
Have a great week!
Anne
